Last week at ICTE was a marathon! We ran the good race with Saint Paul as Fr. Scott Brodeur, S.J. brought him to life for us. At the end of the week, after days full of stimulating lectures, Fr. Scott took us on a tour of Pauline Rome. We visited the Jewish Synagogue and got an amazing tour full of the history of the Jewish Community in Rome that goes back to the second century B.C.
Lots of things were sandwiched between classes. We were welcomed for lunch at the Casa Santa Maria, the house for priest-students from the United States and other English-speaking Countries in Rome. We were warmly greeted by Archbishop Jorge Carlos Patrón Wong at the Congregation for the Clergy. We received a fascinating tour from Liz Lev of the Farnesina Gallery and Santa Maria in Trestevere.
And yes, we took care of personal business like getting our hair cut by our own personal barber, Fr. Liem Nguyen.
