What a Week!!

We had a variety of wonderful intellectual, professional and personal experiences this week at the Institute for Continuing Theological Education (ICTE)! The week began with stimulating presentations on contemporary ethics and challenges to preaching the gospel by Fr. Robert Gahl of the Pontifical University of Santa Croce. Midweek, Fr. Vivian Boland, O.P., professor at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum), presented on the spirituality of preaching and Fr. Mark Avila, O.M.V. professor at the Pontifical Biblical Institute presented a lecture entitled, "The Relationship of God and His People in the Old Testament." On Thursday Afternoon Fr. Tad Oxley, a formator for seminarians at the North American College who works at the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) hosted the ICTE priests at the CDF and offered a fascinating tour while discussing his work candidly. After busy days, ICTE priests found time to enjoy one another, including dinner at a Vietnamese Restaurant organized by Fr. Liem Nguyen who shared his heritage with us.
